The nominated artists for the BBC "Awards for World Music" were announced on October, 27 2006 at WOMEX in Sevilla, Spain. The Album of the Year category is decided by a world panel of critics organized by fRoots Magazine and voting for the final category, the Audience Award, opens on January 1, 2007. The winners will be announced on March 31, 2007 on Radio 3's World Routes program and the Winners' Concert will be held on May 27, 2007 at the Barbican in London, when the winner of the Audience Award will also be announced.
